Review

LunarPages is one of the most popular web hosts around today and for good reason. Prices start from just $2.95 per month, which is one of the lowest prices you'll find for web hosting. If you have a very limited budget, LunarPages may just be the best choice for you.

As well as providing large space and bandwidth allowances, LunarPages also offer you free Google Adwords coupons simply by using their hosting plans. This means that you'll be able to advertise your business for free as an extra benefit, which should give you more visitors and potentially profit.

LunarPages provides a massive range of hosting plans and web solutions. It can be quite difficult actually choosing the right one for you. However, in this review, we'll analyse a few of their main hosting plans. The first web hosting plan is the Starter Hosting plan. This plan works well for those who just want a very small website. This can be seen by their 5GB disk space and 50GB bandwidth limits, which are still pretty high for the average webmaster. As you would expect from a hosting plan as cheap as this, there are no addon domains available. Support is via e-mail only for this plan.

Now, the next major hosting plan LunarPages offer is the Basic Hosting plan. The cost of this is $4.95 per month which is still very low for a decent web hosting company. It does, though, provide you with a lot more features than their lower plan does. For example, unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth is provided, as well as a free domain name, unlimited addon domains and even $110 worth of free advertising coupons for Google Adwords, Facebook and MySpace! Support is provided 24/7 by e-mail and phone.

The third main hosting plan offered by LunarPages is the Business Hosting plan. This is definitely the plan to go with if you're a webmaster with many websites or even a business. It includes some fantastic features including 3 free domain names, unlimited disk space and bandwidth, a free Dedicated IP address, a free SSL certificate and $120 worth of free advertising coupons. Of course, the price is much more expensive than the others at $18.95 per month, but this is well justified because of the extras you're able to get with this package. Of course, if you don't need all of these extras, buying one of the lower plans would be a better idea for you.

Let's talk about the support from LunarPages in general. In the Starter Hosting plan, support is via e-mail only. Their e-mail support is very quick as they have an e-mail support team working 24/7 to answer all queries, but I still think that the phone support is the better option. It's much easier to communicate and get answers straight away. To get this phone support, though, you need to have a hosting plan with them that is higher than the Starter Hosting plan. If you're an active webmaster, maybe getting the Starter Hosting plan isn't a good idea.

One extra service that LunarPages do offer is a complete web design package. This comes with a custom web design with 1 year free hosting. Unfortunately, the costs of it are rather high. From what I've seen, the quality of the web designs are very good, though, so if you have a large budget, you should consider using it. For just a basic 5 page design, the cost is $895. For a blog, the cost is $1595 and for a fuly working E-Commerce shopping cart, the cost is $3,395.

In conclusion, LunarPages provide very good web hosting packages for an affordable cost. The plan you should buy depends solely on your needs, though. If you just want to build a very small website, using the Starter Hosting plan would be ideal for you. If you're wanting to start a large website or two (the average webmaster), using the Basic Hosting plan would be the best decision for you. If, however, you're a business or you want to start many large websites, the Business Hosting plan (Although more expensive), would be perfect for you.
